John Drew Munro is a Montreal-based painter working primarily in encaustic and oil whose work can best be described as pattern-based abstraction. What interests and drives his work is not the appearance of depicted objects but its underlying essence of form – this can best be described as a redepiction of reality (unveiled). The body of work is part of a continuum that mutates as it progresses. He has a BFA from Concordia University (89) and has been painting for 20 years with exhibitions in Canada, the US and Europe
